I suggest you start simple first. Forget about the 12v trigger for now. Turn on the amp manually. The only thing the manual for the amp is going to tell you is the specs and common sense advice about giving it plenty of ventilation.
Get the manual for the receiver to learn how to set it up, then just connect the front pre-outs to the amp and turn it on. That's about all there is to it.
BTW, the story about the trigger cable not being large enough to carry the signal is nonsense. All you need is a cable with a mono 1/8" mini plug on each end.
Hey MDS, I think I have tried every possible option and still no luck.
I've connected the front speakers to the amp, connected the pre-outs to the amp and still nothing.
Is it odd that the amp will not go into stand-by mode. There is a power button and a stand-by button. When I power on the amp and then press the stand-by button it clicks but the amp stays on. The stand-by light remains on all the time when the power is on.
The trigger issue I would agree with. The area on the back of the amp is not marked as a trigger, I think connection in. I connected it to the connection out on the receiver, not the 12V trigger. The amp would power up out of stand-by mode (when turned on) when the receiver is turned on. When I turn the receiver off the amp would remain on and not go back into stand-by mode like I mentioned above.
This is driving me crazy. No sure what the next step is. Any suggestions?
