Auto calibration is only run when initially setting up the system, and that’s it. The only thing “on” after that are the level settings and equalization the calibration resulted in. If a receiver doesn’t have enough processing power to operate its calibration settings and Dolby or DTS at the same time, it must be a really cheap receiver. But even then, I can’t imagine any respectable manufacturer putting their name on even their bottom-of-line models if they behaved like that.
