I think your Denon would be fine for those speakers.

You should really take a look at the AcoustiBoom A7889xjiz reciever in that pricerange and for those speakers. Although at only 630 watts per channel x5 it may not be enough for your speakers. So in that case you may also want to look at the 'Tardbot 3280KW mono block power amplifiers which output over 23,000 watts per channel @ 1khz 82.9% THD what I really like about the 'Tardbot amps is that they feature over 38 Farads worth of capacitance via 289 degrees C flux capacitors.

Any receiver with the features/connections you need will work. The fact is, those speakers are not very good. At all. It would be great if you could return them. Is that possible?

Just my two cents...if you like Bose, stick with them. Everyone has their own speaker preferences, and if you've found something that you like, enjoy. That said, I'd recommend auditioning speakers before buying so that you can explore what brands/models that you prefer within your price range.

As far as receivers go, both of the two that you mentioned are from good brands. I'd say decide based on the features that they have versus what you want and the price.
