If you remember, the Yamaha RX-V659 was the bargain of the year when it came out. It had a ton of features and power for it's price. Hopefully it will be the same story here, but two years later.

Seth, I hope we both are correct. I did not really see much, if any, advantages in going with the 863. Well, at least for the price difference anyways. The 1018 will probably be a bit better but just don't want to wait that long for it to become available. This hobby, just as in life, is about trade-offs. Nothing is never perfect as timing at times is everything. Such is the life of an audiophile eh?
