I could have read these articles wrong but one article dated 09/24/2004
by Thomas Steves" Ram Electronics Ind. Inc. stated the following:
"DVI connectors is considered to be limited to 5 meters (approximately 15 feet) with standard DVI cable design. HDMI is designed to perform better over longer lengths, but actual performance constraints are similar to DVI".
The other article dated 11/11/2004 from Impact Acoustics states
"For all of its amazing ability, the HDMI connector is surprisingly compact and robust. Based on copper cables (as opposed to optical fibers), HDMI makes few demands as to cable length and bend radius. Runs to 50 feet or more are easily accommodated. HDMI may well be the perfect way to transmit high definition images to a ceiling mounted projector or from multiple source components to a single control processor. HDMI is rapidly finding its way into many upscale home cinema products".
The distance between my projector and DVD player / Etc will be 35 ft. The first article makes it sound like the picture quality will degrade equally between DVI and HDMI! So my question is what to run for projector? Thank you for your help.
