Confidence Monitor Question

Hello there, We had a question about a confidence monitor situation we had come up. So essentially, We want to know if there is a way to split a video output from one computer into two separate screens. So, lets say during a power point, The presenter will be able to see the notes they have written on their slides while the Presentation is being shown normally on the Projectors. We have a Laptop running the powerpoint with the notes showing at the tech table and we have gotten this to work in the past but we wanted to see if there was more efficient ways or just other ways in general of doing this. More specifically on a window 7 computer.

This isn't a projector or anything video related question really, it's a PC and PC software question.

In my experience, PowerPoint allows for a slide presentation to be played on monitor 2, and you can show whatever you would like on monitor 1. Any laptop with dual video outputs can be configured so that the connections to the two video outputs are setup for monitor 1 and monitor 2, then you set PowerPoint to play the presentation on monitor 2, and you put whatever you want on monitor 1.

You control what is plugged into monitor 1, by physically plugging something into your laptop.
Same with monitor 2.
