So I had a Logitech z-560 Speaker system. A very good computer speaker system and recently after 12 years of use, one of the channels started going out. I took the system apart and while troubleshooting it shorted some to where the speaker power comes on but sound is not output through them. Now All my satellites work (hooked them up to a receiver and they work) and I am guessing the sub does as well.
My question is. Is there anyway to make this system work again short of finding the blown capicator and replacing it. Can i hook the speakers and sub to a receiver and receiver great sound? Can the sub woofer be directly connected to a receiver or does it need an amp?(I think the amp is part of the electronic board that blew out).
Do you think I am better off just trashing this unit and buying a new set of the logitech z-5500?
Thanks for all the help in advance. Hope i posted in the right section!
