Component Video Wall Plate

I'm looking for a component video wall plate/insert that has the standard female RCA connections on the front and back. I also need it it to be just the middle section that can fit along with two other inserts in a three gang box/plate.

Here is the link to what I ordered from Impact Accoustics.

http://www.impactacoustics.com/product.asp?cat_id=3209&sku=37071

After I got it I realized that it didn't have RCA connectors on the back. It came with +/- connectors. If they had a pic of the back of this on their website, I could have saved myself some time and money.

I found what appears to be a full plate instead of just the insert at DVIGear at four times the price of the original one that I got. Is there something special here that I'm missing or does this just fall under the same pricing scenarios as cabling and speaker wire?

Anyone else bought one of these before that could point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
DTruth.

Hate to say it, but it does say in the description "With RCA type jacks on the front and a screw-terminal block on the back"

You might check out some of these to see if they will fit the bill. http://www.panamax.com/products.cfm?group=22&sec=group

True, but for those of us that are new to this, a picture is worth thousand words. I read the description, but it didn't register. I had the preconceived notion that it would have RCA connections on the front and back as a default. Lesson learned.

I checked your link, but they don't appear to have what I'm looking for.

Thanks though.

Leviton QuickPorts might be another option. They are available at Home Depot. I don't know for sure if they have the 'feed through' type in the ram electronics link, but they have alot of variations.

Parts Distress also carries a line of then to be used with their "installer friendly" line. $6.50 for the three conectors and $0.78 for the Decora plate.

I've used Ram Electronic before, too. Very fast shipping. I've also used Pacific Cable www.pacificcable.com Also great service and carry every kind of adapter you'll ever need.

Good timing. Found those at RAM just before I saw your post. Could the quality really be that much different between these and what DVIGear has to justify the higher price at DVI? ~$40 at DVI vs. $5.85 at RAM?

Why can't this be simple!?!?! I don't want to pay $40 if a $6 piece will suffice, but I don't want to pay $6 only to find out that it's the weak link in the setup that causes issues. Only one way to find out.

Think about how complicated that wall plate is. It's two sets of RCA jacks, wired togeter on a piece of plastic. Nothing crazy there. I say go for the cheap RAM one and don't worry about it.

Good point. Just ordered it. Shipping cost more than the plate. :)

To the person that gave me the bad chicklet and wrote:
" PartsExpress sucks... So do you !! Go away little man."

You may notice I didn't have the nicest thing to say about them.

RAM Electronic and my new favorite Pacific Cable are my "goto" places for adapters and specialty cables. Pacific Cable is where I bought break-out adapters for DVI-I and RGB connections. I would highly recommend either distributer to anybody. Especially if you just need to get ideas.

Next time grow some balls and sign your comment.

For the record, it wasn't me. I don't play the chiclet game and I appreciate all constructive feedback.

No shipping at your local Home Depot. :)
Yes, but you don't spend money on gas. And besides, what's wrong with getting stuff delivered to your door? Much more convenient.

If it wasn't for the internet I probably wouldn't have half of the stuff I needed to build my HT. Even if I travel to another city to one of the specialty B&M store they almost alway either steer me to an internet site or offer to order the item for me. Anymore shipping is usually cheaper or the same when compared to the 6% sale tax (or higher depending on what city in Florida) I pay to B&M stores. Then add the cost of gas today:eek: (another post all together)
