Component video concerns for 35' run?

I'm trying to pick a set of component video cables for a long run. 30' might work, but I think 35' would be best. 50' would be overkill and expensive.

Other than the normal 75ohm, good braid/shield, good termination factors are there any special considerations I should use when picking a cable at this length? I see a lot of people mention 25' as an upper limit when discussing these things, as if longer runs should be considered seperately.

As a follow-up, I have the same questions regarding a 30' or 35' toslink cable.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

50 feet is not a problem depending on the cable. Even at 50 feet some mini coax cables will not have too much loss to be useable. A real good rg59 or rg6 will easily do 50 feet with very minimal loss.

I agree with the above poster but would recommend the RG 6 type; usually less loss over distances. Cable TV uses it for distance runs, not the type 59s

I dunno, would quad shielded RG-6 be a safe bet, or it that overkill?

Not an overkill at all. That is also a good suggestion indeed.
