Component Video Cable too Long?

How Long is Too Long?

I am a do-it-yourselfer and have a question about component video cable. So that I can properly hide the cable (behind the baseboard and up the wall) I am going to have a run of about 60 feet. This is from the receiver to the ceiling mounted projector. Could this negatively impact picture quality? Will I need to be particularly concerned about cable quality? I found a cable supplier that sells component video cavble in standard lenghths that include 12 feet and 50 feet so I'll also need connnectors. Should I avoid this and go with a one special made length of 60 feet?
Thanks for your repsonses.

I'm not sure about exact losses or interference.
But I would say at that length you'll want to get a really well shielded cable. And just one cable. Not two with an adapter.
You could make your own with some RG6, preferrebly quad shielded. and the right connectors.

At 60 feet you definitely want to be sure to use a decent cable and you likely want it as a single run so there is no chance of issues with connectors and poor cable ends behind walls. Cheaper cables especially often have issues with poor terminations that go bad - not likely a cable you want to run twice.

You can always run RG6 and terminate it yourself. Or PM me for another alternative. Depends on what you're looking to spend.

Absolutely, especially for a 60' run. Once you make your first set of cables, you'll never buy retail again.

You can actually order RG11, but it's not necessary until you hit 150' runs.

Coax Cable Signal (Attenuation) Loss per 100ft

Loss at RG-59 RG-6 RG-11
1MHz 0.4dB 0.2dB 0.2dB
10MHz 1.4dB 0.6dB 0.4dB
50MHz 3.3dB 1.4dB 1.0dB
100MHz 4.9dB 2.0dB 1.6dB
200MHz 7.3dB 2.8dB 2.3dB
400MHz 11.2dB 4.3dB 3.5dB
700MHz 16.9dB 5.6dB 4.7dB
900MHz 20.1dB 6.0dB 5.4dB

Well, that is a long run. Please check out this link as for that run, you should consider that cable by Belden:

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to go woth the Beldon 1694A. I'm not sure about terminating them myself. I'm running it so the RCA ends will connect directly to the source (A/V receiver) and display (projector).
