Component to vga

Hi I am looking to connect an xbox 360 and ps3 to a projector that I have, and am wondering how to get the component cables to a vga port on the projector. I was thinking of using a cable like this one

I would get it from Monoprice.com instead of Ebay. It's cheaper after shipping and they are a more reliable vendor.

I use a component to vga adaptor. It connects right at the projector, that way you can get a component cable as long or short as you want. Inside I use a shorter cable, while outside i need a much longer component cable to run to the projector. So the adaptor works out great.

I was doing a bit more reading about it online, and I found someplace that says you need a projector that is compatible with it, otherwise you need to buy a seperate convertor for somewhere around 70 bucks. Have you heard of anything like this?
