component out RXV-2500

I have a samsung plasma, yamaha rxv-2500 and a sony dvd player. My TV signal isn't the best there is. To overcome this I sent all my video inputs to my receiver and took the video out of the receiver to the plasma. This works much better. I wanted to use the component out of the receiver to see if this makes further difference. However, when I connect the component out I only get a black/white picture. What gives? With the component out I get a clear/color menu from the receiver .. so I'm sure it's not the wiring. What else could it be?

From your main menu on the 2500. goto "Input Select" scroll to the I/O Assignment, then "cable/sat"- then select "componet" It gives you different options for each. Play with that menu, if everything is hooked up right, you should be able to correct the problem.
