Ok so this is my first post here and my situation is this: Had a house party on the weekend, had a DJ playin usin my old'ish' Pioneer 4-way speakers, and yes one of them won't work now  (it was a good party!). So now I have this crazy idea I'd like to build my own set of floor standing speakers like a mate bought a few years ago (dunno what they are). Anyway where do I start? I've read a few threads here and I'm getting the drift that I have soooo much to learn that I might drop the idea but before I do that I'd like to learn some info I may never use in daily life but what the ha'! Bla bla...Can anyone reply with previous threads of similarity or give me some bits of info?

Cheers in advance :D

This book is good to start out on - I'm reading it now to learn how to design crossovers. It's got a lot of basic information, but a lot of technical stuff, too.

It doesn't have any floorstanding speaker projects, but the Loudspeaker Design Cookbook might have more interesting stuff.

Chew on those for awhile and see if you're up to the challenge.
