Q. # (1).....I just turned the table (or so I think) on 6th Ave. Electronics (details if desired) by paying only $196.00 plus tax on a "new" (unopened box w/ full manu. 2 yr. parts/labor) Pioneer Elite VSX-80TXV. Is this what I consider to be a good drop your pants deal or did they just make me think so?.......................................................................................................Q. # (2).....With 7X110watts RMS (77 watts actual w/o peak distortion),will this be enough/barely/ample/more than sufficient to power: 2 Advent Maestros, along with 2 Advent Legacy II speakers, a JBL Northbridge series N center channel, 2 Pioneer two way base reflex towers w/ max. input power 160w at 8olms, and finally a KLH 120 watt rms output powered subwoofer (other details...inputs,controls,response,size/type,crossover...if needed)?...............................................................................................Q. # (3).....Kindly explain what rms is or anything relevant to peak output, won't you please?

Thank you

Thank you
1. You got a hell of a deal. This is a discontinued unit, but you won't find anything near that price with the power and features this unit has. It doesn't decode via HDMI the most recent HD audio codecs, BUT, most of the blu-ray players ( assuming you'll have, or will be getting one) will decode those internally and send as a PCM signal over HDMI to the receiver. And this receiver does have at least version 1.2a HDMI, and it will take audio over HDMI (I checked Pioneer's website). Make sure when you set it up to read the owner's manual and use the MACC feature. It will be worth the time and trouble.
2. You should have no problem at all powering your speakers with this unit to pretty loud levels.
3. RMS - See #2.
