From looking at the specs and features of both it seems that if you want more power go with the Denon. Other than that you would have to decide which feature set suits you best. I do like the 4 port ethernet switch on the Sony. Both have zone 2 hdmi (nice feature). Different command structures, although Sony has the built in home automation via the gui. Apples to apples If you are looking for simple home control and home theater go with the Sony, if you are more concerned with power and more theater like experience go Denon. Honestly you can't go wrong with either.
