We need a college football thread because I don't want college football discussion to be tained with NFL talk.


How about 5 of the top10 losing last weekend!! HeHeHeHe

That's good news for my Buckeyes, because it's a pretty rare week when your team is ranked #8 and four teams ranked ahead of you lose in a single week!!!

WOW!!!!

With that said, I seriously doubt the Bucks are good enough to play in the championship game for the 2nd consecutive year, but I'll keep my fingers crossed!! And of course... it broke my heart seeing Florida lose to Auburn

And for me...sadness...that last second, goal line fumble by the Ducks. They outplayed Cal and gave it away. UGH. Now ranked 13 instead of 3. That hurts...and two weeks before the next game...two weeks to mope.

The Buckeyes need to step it up to get in the BCS Championship game. But I believe they have the talent to improve.

The Buckeyes will lose to the Badgers later this season but first our defense needs to step up. As long as Wisconsin and Ohio state stay undefeated up until that point it will be perfect. I want a Wisconsin vs. USC showdown for the BCS title game. I want the Big 10 to show the PAC 10 who's boss.

When I saw the highlights, it was painful for me too because I really hoped the Ducks would pull out the big "V" against Cal. The Ducks look pretty darned good this year, and I really like that QB.

As for the Buckeyes?? I'm not getting overly confident. A 5-0 Purdue is playing good football this year, and we play them on the road this week. Granted....Purdue has yet to be tested by a top program, but they've been known to play Ohio State extremely tough. I still have painful memories of a Drew Brees!!

When I think of Purdue, I also think of "Holy Buckeye". Late in the 2002 undefeated season, Ohio State was on the verge of losing on the road to Purdue.

With the clock winding down to 1:45 in the 4th quarter, OSU was faced with a 4th & 1 from the 37yd line and their first loss.

I think there is little argument that the PAC-10 is the dominant conference this year. (SEwhat?! ) USC is awesome.

But I warn you now. Do not overlook Oregon. They outplayed Cal by a long shot...except for their first (4!!) turnovers of the year including one at the Cal goal line with 20 seconds left.

APP.ST still owns the biggest upset in recent history in my eyes when they beat Michigan, but USC losing to a crappy team like Stanford at home has to leave a very deep mark.

This is a crazy year. The Badgers went down, but Illinois looks fairly decent. If we (Badgers had a defense) we could win some games.

My only hope is the Badgers knock off the buckeyes to move back up into bowl contention. Not likely but I can hope.

Naw, I was razzing you because this year's Buckeyes are not up to the level of many of the teams of the recent past. Equality is hitting college ball in a big way. The limitations of scholarships will prevent the old powerhouses like OSU, USC, etc. from warehousing talent.

How about a little wager on which team finishes with a higher ranking....Ducks or B-eyes? (You'll have to give odds of course because of the current situation.)

It is clear that LSU is the best team in the country, but all the unbeaten teams are BEATABLE - all of them. I understand the B E nut likes Ohio State, they were supposed to be the best team in the country last year but got embarassed in the NC game. This years OSU team is less talented than that team.

Wow, just noticed that my alma mater Illinois is actually ranked this year (clearly, I don't follow them that much). Few and far between, that's for sure (my reason for not following them that much). They lost to Iowa this weekend, but I can live with that - all of my family is from there except for me.
