Okay, this one hits theaters tomorrow (today actually).

Personally, I really want to see this. The camera style seems really fitting for this genre, and helps give it a realism that the other similar movies lacked. Not only that, but it seems more realistic from the get go.

I don't know if any of you saw the trailers for it (you better have), but they showed a clip of a girl having a fit in a tent, then all of a sudden her stomach expands to almost 5 times is original size. They cut the seen right there. That alone was enough to get me in the door.

Who else is interested in this movie?

How can you hate Lost!!!I really like that show.

Have heard from some people who have seen Cloverfield, it seems to be a "love it or hate it movie". I don't particularly care for the "Blair witch" shaky handy cam film style.

I liked season 1 of Lost. I also loved season 1 and 2 of Alias.

you wanna know why i switched from "liked/loved" to "hate"?

because Abrams NEVER explains the mysteries in his shows. he keeps giving you NEW mysteries to make you forget that he never explained the FIRST ones.

LOL, have to agree with you there! But more often than not I find the mystery far better than what the answer turns out to be.

I hate jerky, hand-held camera stuff. I need dramamine to watch it. Blair Witch Project totally sucked.

TOTALLY agree on Alias... the first 2.5 seasons were some of the best television I watched. The third season was great up through the episode where Sydney finds out what happened during her two "missing" years... after that it went straight downhill.

As for Cloverfield, I think it's a DVD rental.

Alias Season 2 was one of the best things to ever hit TV. Set the bar very high for the show so it had no choice but to go downhill from there. It's ironic too because Buffy season 2 was also ridiculously good and the show just had to go downhill from there.

I know they are going for that look, but it doesn't look very interesting to me at all. Rental at best.

Not enough to make me abandon my HT paradise for the hell-hole movie theaters. I mean what are we looking at here, Godzilla? Beast from 20,000 fathoms? Bigfoot? Sounds like Netflix material to me.

I hate that jerky-camera crap. One of the reasons I thought the Bourne movies sucked.

A reviewer I listen to today said, if you go see it, be sure to sit near the back of the theater, to lessen the, "I think I'm gonna urp" effect.

I watched it and enjoyed it. The camera work is annoying. The very end has a little tiny thing about the movie that is very easy to miss, so keep your eyes peeled.:) It's an open ended ending, and if there is a sequel, it would have to be very different.

Do they at least show the monster? My wife wants to see it but if they don't show the monster I am not going. You don't have to say what monster it is, I just to know if there is ANY monster.
