So my dream has been to replace my raggedy old couch with a new HT couch (loveseat since there is only 2 of us in the house). For years I've been totally entralled by the idea of putting some transucers in the couch, and after looking at everything I've decided on the Clark Synthesis Transducers (was thinking of the Buttkicker, but I've seen reviews saying it bottoms out a lot and is distracting).
So, my goal is to buy two transducers and seperate them into left and right sides of the room (and left and right sides of the loveseat). I want to split the LFE signal to both Transducers and the front left signal to the left Transducer and the front right signal to the right Transducer. What equipment do I need to do this?
I think I need 2 mixers - 1 to mix the LFE signal and the front left signal to the left Transducer and 1 to mix the LFE signal and the front right signal to the right Transducer. However, do you have any suggestions for mixers? I've never bought one before and don't know where to start. What I do know is that I need something that will allow me to choose the cutoff frequency since I'm also feeding the signals from the front speakers to the Transducers. I don't want voices coming from the couch. I want to be able to cut off the frequency so I get the low frequencies from the front speakers and the LFE, but not the high frequencies from the front speakers.
Then I was just thinking of picking up an Emotiva 5 channel amp, and using two channels. I'm sure I can find something to do with the other 3 channels.
So, does that make sense: LFE+Left Preout to Left Mixer to L channel AMP to L Transducer, and LFE+Right Preout to Right Mixer to R channel Amp to R Transducer, with the mixer set to cutoff at whatever frequency I deem is appropriate?
Again, any suggestions for Mixers that would do this are recommended, since this is a new area for me in the HT world.
Thanks
