Circuit City stores still exist in North America, only the US stores were closed.

The reason they are in the predicament is they got rid of the top sales associates (high commisions) and got idiots to fill in.

It's just a different company using the Circuit City name. Who knows, maybe it will be decent, I'm not going to write them off right away just because of the name.

the web site reminds me of the compusa website,very similar,

actually looking better at both sites ,it is the same company,"systemax" owns both names.

Yep, Systemax- On NYSE...actually Tiger Direct out of Miami...had a bad name for some folks but improving. It got a good writeup in Business Week recently for their marketing at new Compusa. You have to return smaller items in 14 days which is not the best return policy. They have a lot of refurbs which appear to be overstock. I noted they have Infinity Beta 20 speakers for $120/pr and a lot of Onkyo and Yamaha receivers at average pricing.

looks like a decent deal. Not as good as dakmart though.
