Sorry about that... it was probably a bad decision to use the term in the title.
But one thing I did want to illustrate was the
horribleness of the term
true HD as mean a video resolution. (Yeah, horribleness is a real word in the Hagar dictionary)
I would have hoped once Dolby adopted it as their audio format it would stopped being used as
marketing speak for 1080P. But the offices of the Home Box Office, (otherwise known as the second office of the ATSC) decided true HD now means 1080i.
Thank God sales and marketing doesn't get to write technical standards.
true HD reminds me of a politician talking about
true freedom... or
true anything for that matter, it's a euphemism for
ours not
theirs.
