My wife gave me a Toshiba HD-D3 as a Christmas gift (it came with a HDMI cable and 2 HD DVD movies). I hooked it up yesterday and watched "300", the picture looked awsome, then, I watched "Transformer" in SD DVD, I did not notice any difference using D3 to play SD DVD than my regular DVD player. The D3 suppose to do upscaling right?

would like to hear your comment.

Yes, it does upscaling. Make sure you go into the menu and tell it what to output (480i, 720p, etc). I would suggest trying it at your tv's native res first. The D3 may factory default at 480, which is a standard dvd player's output.
