So, here's the run down. Wife and I are upgrading our house to a detached, basement will be finished and it will "require" a new HT setup :D .

I currently have for speakers (which are about 9+ years old) 4 polk audio RS30 speakers and a matching centre. It's sub is powered by a relatively new velodyne 12 incher.

Already upgraded reciever to a Marantz 6003.

My budget for fronts and Centre are as follows (i assumed i could reuse my polks for surronds still)

Front L/R - 1000 for the pair
Centre - 400ish

My 3 choices are (based on Canadian pricing i have seen),

PSB (C40PSB and Image T5's)
Paradigm (CC-190 V.6 Paradigm Monitor 7)
Polk Audio (CSi A6 TSi500 or RTi A5)

Haven't been able to get out to listen yet, however I am looking to get some decent High's and Mids from these speakers.

This setup will be mainly for watching TV/Movies.

My choice would go in the order you have them listed. PSB or Paradigm over Polk any day for me.

Having listened to the Paragigm Monitor 7, I would take it off the list. It is note even close to the quality of the studio line. I found the mids and bass to be very muffled. Overall they had a veiled sound compared to the studio line. The Monitor 11 is supposed to be a much better speaker, but I have not listened to it.

Are you limiting your search to speakers that can be found in stores or are you willing to look at Internet Direct companies?

I would be willing to do Internet Direct companies, as long as they ship to canada (specifically toronto)

Check out Axiom. They're Canadian. You can probably find an audition as I know of at least two people currently active on the Aciom forums who would do that.

I don't know about Aperion or Ascend.
