Choices, Choices, Choices... Swans Vs. AV123

I was planning on getting the X-CS, MTMs, SLSs, and an X-Sub :clap: paired with the Onkyo 605 but I came across the Swan 5.1BC on sale for $549 a pair. I would order 2 sets (R/L Fronts/Rears) plus the Swan C3 Center for $329. With est. shipping on both, the Swan set would cost $1527 and the X-Series set would cost $1343. So the intial cost would only be $200 but I would need to later add an X-Sub so it would overal be about a $500 difference. So my questions...

1. The entertainment center will be all black w/ black curtains behind it and a black rug. Do you think that dark brown would clash too much?

2. Does any one have any experience as far as the Swans VS the X-Series?

I don't mind coming up with the extra money but I want to make sure the Swans are $500+ better than the X-Series.

shockemags, if you decide to go with the Swans, but would prefer the rosewood finish, you can get a pair for about $100 more at newegg.

Some have compared the Swans more to the Rocket series from AV123 as oppsed to the "X". So in theory, the Swans would be better than "X"?

For the most part from all that I have read here and at avsforum Swan speakers are excellent speakers for the money. You shouldn't let their price tag fool you. Craigsub at avs has been listening to the D2.1SE bookshelves ($900/pair) and he seems to prefer them over the strata mini's and sierra's.

As much as we all enjoy reading Craigsub's stuff, and it is very informative, I would caution giving his opinions more weight than others. He simply makes himself more visible than others.

I must admit though, I just looked up the D2.1SE, and it looks very interesting.

AV123 is having a sale on their Rocket packages... Rocket Package Sale

I just don't know if I can pass on those swans... I feel like Swan 5.1's as R/L Fronts/Rears and C3 will have more "umph" and after shipping it would be about the same price as This Rocket Package.

Any advice?

Since the Swans are on sale. If you didn't like them you could probably sell them on e-bay for what you paid for them, if not for more. Something to think about.
