Cherry finish speakers??

Natural cherry wood is light and/or UV sensitive and will darken as it's exposed to sunlight. It's not at all uncommon to see pairs of used speakers with that finish being sold where one is still light and another is quite a bit darker, often only on half of it.

Swerd has the same Salk Songtowers I do in the same curly cherry finish. His are some of the originals so they are pushing 10 years old. I have pictures of his and they look just about identical to mine. There may have been some darkening, but if there was, its very subtle. Mine look darker or lighter just based on how much light is in the room.

To KenM10759's point, sunlight will change the coloration of just about any finish. I live in the desert and we have living proof all around us that the big ball of radiation we call the sun will alter just about any and every surface its exposed to. My room never gets direct sunlight. I have heavy drapes over the single window and there is a door across the entrance.

When I take pictures of mine, they look different nearly every time. Its a fascinating finish.
The way Salk puts these things out, you can sit and look at them a long time and just get happy.
