Cheap AND Good speakers thread

For my little DIY project, I am thinking about buying the Micca 42X from Amazon - they still seem suspect to me.
Some good ears that I respect - owned them and did not care much for them - - problem, mainly may be in their
cabinet and damping - plus I want to check the woofer frame for ringing.

I am curious how they stack up against the new Insignia speakers at Best Buy - they are still nice for the price,
however better suited for surrounds.

EDIT: On second look... Maestro is pretty flat... and Mezzo has some bigger peaks and dips...

Maestro measurements are good to me - I am still recommending the Alexxa B1 from time to time.

Just goes to show how much Mordaunt is under-appreciated in the US - there is very little market for them here.

Amen. I still really like MS speakers, but hard to find in the U.S.

I wouldn't say Cheap, but Inexpensive AND Good (really good) - the new NHT SuperOne 2.1, x2 = $299.98 and free ground shipping - my two cents under your limit!

For an office or small room near field these kits, just screws, are a nice pair with an amp. These were the first speakers I got for my daughter.. The Madisound Speaker Store

2-way speaker, which sells regular at $79. So I will do the Monoprice by itself.

Well, the Monoprice will be going back - I will not even open them.

A budget friendly speaker that dips to 2.2 ohms is not cool > Also,
the lower treble drops at 8 khz and sinks. I sure am wondering who
designed this speaker for them.
