What do you mean by matching set? Subs and speakers don't need to "match".....

Usually you choose an amp to suit the speakers rather than the other way around. Just what are the amp's "capabilities"?

A pair of full range speakers, that's what's best for that amplifier. They don't need to be floor standing, a lot of medium size speakers from that amp's era had 10" to 15" woofers. You can easily find a pair on Craigslist for cheap and restore them. You may not have to spend even $100 total to do it.

Good luck.

See Kenm10795 knows what I mean. Something more compatible with the amp. I understand that in most cases u look for and amp that is best compatible with the speakers u have but in my case that would be a surround sound for the sub witch u know the surround sound it's for comes with a sub and a boom box for the other speakers. I on the other hand want to keep the receiver and amp I have and get the speakers that best go with it.

Mind u it is an older one so instead of having a dial for bass a dial for mid and a dial for treb it has a graphic eq to better dial in the different ranges. It definetly gives the user a chance to fine tune the eq to their sound prefrance
