Has anyone had a chance to listen to cerwin vega xls-215 side by side with a pair of klipsch rf-7 I I. ?? I'm not concerned with bass, obviously 215's are going to probably sound like they're hitting harder. I just want to know if anyone has compared the MIDS AND HIGH and what people think. Thank you!

I have not compared them A/B. I would say honestly, other than they are both speakers, its apples to oranges.
Klipsch has a very forward sound. To me it feels like your sitting with your face a couple inches in front of the tweeter.
I have not heard the newer CVs but used to own a set of AT80s. I would expect the highs at least to be more laid back. The mids may be a toss-up. As far as bass, even though you said you weren't talking bass, I would expect the CV to be slightly muddied compared to the Klipsch.
Hope this helps.

Am I right? The RF7 II is the Communist Chinese version of the RF7? Klipsch outsourced the "II" version?

I wonder how an RF7 compares to an RF7 II.

Just get the 7II's, a 64II (both made in USA) and some VTF15's, and it can look like this! On a serious note, I have only heard older CV's, and I like Klipsch sound. My 7ii's bump pretty hard in 2 channel music as well.

Do you set your mains to Large.? I have two pair of RF-7 IIs and I set my mains to small and crossover at 80hz I've tried 60 hZ but I get the bass I'm looking for having my subs set to 80hz. I was always told never set my mains to large the klipsch only play down to 30hz so why send them 20hz? The subs will play those way better anyway and no losed information. Sending frequencies the speaker cannot handle will result in distortion and could possibly do harm

I tried everything at 60hz, and to me 80hz just sounds better. So the 7ii's and 64ii are crossed at 80hz, with the dual subs.

In 2 channel music though from say my Ipod, i run the 7ii's in pure without subs, and they thump in a way it makes you smile. It really sounds good, but I have a beast amp too. For HT, with large subs, I think 80hz is just a better move. Let those multiple drivers on the fronts and center handle everything from 80hz on up and let the subs focus on 16-80hz.

Yea I thought the subs sound much better at 80hz than set to 60hz. In 2 Channel for me I use both my subs with the 7ii's even tho the bass is nice out of the 7's the subs just do a better job on the bass . Thank you for your response. I like the Klipsch picture u have hanging saying. Pissing of the neighbors Lol. Where did you get that ?
