OK! Looking for more advice.
I'm looking for a new center channel. It will sit inside an entertainment center therefore a sealed or front-vented design would be ideal. I'd hope to keep the cost below $500.

Who makes the rest of your speakers? Buying from the same brand is the safest bet for timbre matching. Better yet, the same line.

good question!

They are currently a "solist-style" build using vifa speakers. They are fairly efficient. However, I was planing to buy new fronts as well. My choice is, of course, dependant on the center channel. This set-up will be for movie watching and b/c of this I am attempting to find the best center channel first. I am primarly concerned with off axis sound. My seating is approximately 12' wide at a distance of 14.'

Awesome speakers, wide range of center channels. And great if you need to be a little off axis. Huge sweet spot. Lots of options available. Oh, they are sealed too.

I'd suggest PSB Image 9C. This is a discontinued speaker that you can get now for around $250 new if you look. It's smaller brother, the 8C, can be had for around $170. The 9C is pretty massive, you might have trouble fitting it into an entertainment center, but it has two 6.5" drivers along with a 1" aluminum tweeter and is a pretty darn sweet speaker. The 8C has two 5.5" drivers and the same tweet. Both speakers are front ported as well. One place that has both speakers is soundcity.com, they are an authorized dealer, but a local authorized dealer might have some in stock still. Good luck with the hunt.

Very interesting and great price too. Has anyone out there had a chance to test drive this speaker?
