I have a Kenwood receiver (I don't remember the model at the moment as it is not in front of me) and ever since I got it 5 or more years ago, when ever I would power it on, the Center Channel would start at -10. Each of the other speakers would start at what I had set them to last. At first it was just annoying and I would just push the sound button and turn the nob from -10 to 0 and be done with it.
But... I got married this last fall and my wife doesn't like having to do that. Does anyone have any idea why it would be doing this?
The only thing I can think of is that I am not actually using a "Center Channel" speaker, but a speaker from a bookshelf system. Could it be that because it is not a true center channel speaker, my system acts as though it isn't there on powerup?
I finally got a nice HDTV so I should really get a new Center Channel so it will fit on my entertainment center shelf with the TV and still be out of the way, but I am still wondering...
