Center Channel Solution/Alternative

Has anyone ever hooked up a pair of matching speakers with a single to double connection and used them as a center channel speaker?

What I mean, is imagine having a cable that specifically has a single connection to the Amp and then a double connection to a dual binding post. Now just take 2 matching bookshelf speakers, put them together and connect them. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to doing this in terms of SQ?

Couple problems... one, that will put too much load on the amplifier. Two, you can run into cancellation/summing issues. Not recommended. Just stick with a single center channel.

You can do it with 2 power amps and a Y-cable. I've heard of people doing it with decent results with large front projection setups that need better coverage and vocal presence. For the vast majority of people though, adwilk is exactly right in that a single center is better.
