I am wondering about placing the center channel speaker - onix x-cs - under my 40lbs LCD TV, since it is 2" wider than my my media bench was designed for ... 3rd onix x-ls would fit, but the symetry of drivers would lack :(

so ... Is the speaker going to hold the 40lbs, and how would it affect the characteristics ?

regards

The question is can the stand hold the 33lbs of the X-CS + the 40lbs of the TV?

I would guess that you could probably put a car up on blocks using the X-CS so I wouldnt worry about that. If you arent running fullrange you shouldnt get much bass vibration either.

Not ideal, but should work.

The media bench will hold the lbs., my concern is the vibrations you mentioned, so highpassing@80Hz will do the job you say ?

what would be the preffered solution here ? I cant place it on the top of the screen

Center channel

If you can place the center channel in front of the TV without obstruction your view you might be better off. The center channel is not going to have a lot of vibration like a sub, especially with that sturdy cabinet. However, a little blutack would be insurance to make sure that nothing moves if the TV is on top of the speaker.
