Car vs Home speaker wire

I ran 12 ga in the house and now am going to run an amp in my car. Is the wire the same or do I need different(car audio) wire. I think I can use what I have but thought I would ask before I ran it once, not twice.

The speaker wire is totally compatible. It's the same stuff.

I do not think the electrons are compatible. Household electrons want nothing to do with their hillbilly 12volt cousins so better make sure you are using the correct wiring or family squabbles will diminish your sq.
Damn those fussy electrons.
