Can't get 4.3 screen with Dish 942DVR

I have a Panasonic TH-50PX50U 50" Plasma TV paired with a Yamaha 2600 receiver and Dishnetwork DVR 942 HD receiver. I have cable to pickup local stations and the satellite for the rest of the channels. I can get the 4.3 aspect screen using my Panasonic remote when watching cable but can only get full screen watching satellite that is not in HD. The full screen distorts the picture, stretching it side ways. Can anybody help ???

Are you using the HDMI output? If you are try connecting it by the component output.
