cant calibrate 2807 - arg!!!

My Denon 2805 didn't have the phase problem. This is the first time I've come across it.

So wiring my speakers correctly, even though my receiver thinks they're out of phase won't cause any problems?

The problem is that you're hitting the "enter" button when you should be hitting the arrow button. The manual isn't great, but if you actually look at the display, it's showing the arrow button that needs to be hit to skip the phase warning.

Actually I bet that is the problem. Good call there. I had that problem when I first came across my Denon as well.

I am not sure if I am repeating from above, but during setup on the 3806 there are times in all logical and intuitive ways you should be hitting the up/down button but in reality you have to hit the left/right button. The sales guy was on the ball enough to show me this before he would let me leave the building and head home.

I suggest reading post 143 at AVS on Audyssey unless you have done so already since I recently posted on another thread. I think it applies to the Audyssey set up on 2807 the same as the 3896.

I think what Niteboater has been saying (and I ran into the same problem) is there IS no "Skip" option on the screen when certain errors appear. For example, your only choices are "Cancel" or "Retry" whenever the "Ambient Noise Too Loud" error code occurs. There was nothing I could do other than hit "Cancel" or "Retry..." not a matter of hitting "Enter" button or the arrow.

Niteboater’s issue was not being able to get past the "Caution! FR/FL > Phase " error. I have the same model Denon as Niteboater, the 2807, and if I intentionally hook up the speakers out of phase it displays the caution and lists three menu options “Cancel,” “Retry,” and “Skip.” I bought mine B-stock last January so I’m wondering why his doesn’t have a “skip” option when it displays the “out of phase error.” AFAIK there is not a firmware upgrade for this model yet, at least not publicly released.

Ok, so apparantly "phase" error messages come with an escape, or an out. Every "phase" error I've gotten always has a "skip" option...the only time I didn't have that option was "ambient noise is too loud." Niteboater, you still with us?
