While sharpening an old knife, you could tell your grandson that the only way to fix it is to put on a patch of skin from a young boy. :D

Of course, just kidding. Really sorry that happened. Did you ask him about it? I'm just curious what happened. Whatever the case, I hope that you find a way to fix it to your satisfaction. In the end, though, I'm guessing that you love your grandson more than the speaker. :) Maybe... :D

That is not me or my video - a gag by afterlife2.:) afterlife2
pulled up that video.

I have used polyurethane on poly cones before - however, it still
looks like the OP's foam surrounds are nearing their end. I would
be careful around them and with repairing the foam tear.
Might be a good idea to replace the surrounds while fixing the cones.

It'll happen again unless you tune-up the kid and his mother.

How many times do you want to fix the speaker?

Well now, I hope you were joking, accidents happen. Especially when kids are involved. I dont recall reading the young lads age, but my guess is he was too young to understand at the time what he had done or he was old enough and too afraid to tell anyone. Yes its unfortunate, but at the end of the day, your children are more important than speakers. Being held responsible is not the same as tuning someone up. I suspect his daughter already feels bad if she was supposed to be watching him.
Hope the repair works, be sure to let us know which method you used. Good luck.

How difficult would it be to have a hidden, specially ported speaker designed to shoot out a dart like a blow gun? No, farther TOWARD the kill zone please!

i agree jhonnie. I would have to take some of the responsibility. Now what i do is put on the covers to the speakers when I am not using them. If the cover would have been on....chances are this would not of had happened. thx.

:D I had to laugh. That was the same scenario when the vacuum handle went through my woofer. :D

Needless to say, my dust covers now stay on as well. ;)

I am very disappointed to of had just notice my infinity sm152 woofer has a one inch cut. I am pretty sure my grandson got to it the other day when my daughter was washing her car. I just had a long talk with my daughter and explained how upset this makes me. These are basically vintage speakers. My family knows how I feel about all my electronics. Going out of my way to take care of my stuff....then this. Just lack of supervision.

Sorry......just upset.

I cannot hear any rattling or distortion coming from the speaker. Thank god!!

Should I leave it alone? Try n fix it. If so how? Ideas?
I would get in touch with the manufacturer and get a woofer identical to that.. they could be in the $100-$200 range...
