can Yamaha MCX-1000 replace iTunes?

Hiya,

I'm new here (but have been lurking around for quite some time already), so let me introduce myself before asking the actual question.

My name is Ronald, so now this is done, let's continue

At my local hifi shop I can buy a brand new Yamaha MCX-1000 (used to be 2300,- but can now be had for less than 30%). But I also have a spare laptop in my living room, streaming my iTunes library to an AirportExpress which connects to my Yamaha Amp via an optical toslink cable. I'm quite happy with the sound quality (the analog signal from the AE wasn't good at all).
So now I have this dilemma, stay with iTunes or go the more posh way and buy the gorgeous Yamaha MCX-1000? I don't mind transfering my CDs to the MCX-1000.

What would you do?

I have a music server, the Escient Fireball SE80 and I love it.
One nice thing about servers is that they upload the cd artwork and use that as a screen saver when the music is playing.......

Personally, i like the flexibility of having my music on my computer. It can be shared with other computers, streamed to my multiple location simultaneously, you can download album artwork, etc.

I guess the question you have to ask yourself is what does the Yamaha get you that you don't have now?
