Can this be done with a speaker selector?

Don't know if this is possible but I want to be able to switch my 2 rear surrounds (Polk TC80s) over to the B-side selector when I listen to stereo. I want my front set of TC80s running and my back set of TC80s running (using A+B) at the same time and then switch them back to rear surrounds for home theater. I have a fairly decent Yamaha receiver for my power but I'll probably go ahead and replace with a Yamaha RX-V661 soon. Can I do this with a speaker selector input box like a Niles SSVC unit? Or do newer receivers offer this function? And is Niles the best unit to look at for the job of protecting my receiver and speakers?

Any help is MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

The RX-V661 can do multi-channel stereo. So, I think that it should be able to do what you're wanting to do without any need for a speaker selector. Other receivers can also do this.
