I keep seeing people attaching capacitors or wrapping copper wire around something and attaching it to the speaker. Can someone explain to me what this does? What is it called when they wrap the wire around a bolt? Also what tool is this guy using in this video? Its not a multimeter not sure what it is.

wrapping a wire around a bolt is a ghetto way to make an inductor.
