It is a big yes for me also. I grew up playing in a few bands and I listened to music everyday. I don't think anyone can get through their teenage years without it. :D

Yeah, lots of pop psychology. (or pop-science/soft-science).

But, some of it we just know. I always ask what music people are into, for the same reason they said: gives you a lot of clues about the person.
