Can I use "video audio out" as a preamp out?

Can I use the "video audio out" or the CD recorder RCA jack output on my Sony STR-DG720 receiver as a preamp/line-level output and connect it to an amp or second receiver? The DG720does not have a separate line level output. Thanks

No you can't, because you will have no control of volume.

I thought the second receiver's volume control would work. But I also want to make sure I don't damage my new receiver. Thanks

If you use a second receiver it will work, but not for an amp.
