Hi All,

I have Bose Acoustimass 16 Series II and last week I bought a new Denon AVR3310CI for just $600

I haven't tried to setup the new receiver with the Bose ..

at this point I can't buy new speakers.. but I have a plan to buy early next year .. so for now my Bose system is the only way to go..

So, the qes is, Can I use my Bose system with this AVR3310CI receiver?

I'm not sure it can harm the bose system somehow .. so didn't try b4 making sure .. So, please suggest ..

Thanks a lot ..

Well, looking at the official Bose web site for these speakers, it says right here that they can be used with 6.1 receivers.

How? Dunno. Check your manual for hookup instructions. Bose tends to be funny about those.

Make sure you have the spks set as "small" on the receiver. Even then they are still going to get a lot of info below 100Hz, which will probably cause a lot of distortion, and may damage the spks. In their normal setup they are probably crossed over at 150-200Hz, but most surround recs. cross over closer to 80Hz.

In the last week, I found Pioneer and Onkyo surround spks w/sub at Good Will. The Pioneer set was $18 tot. and the Onkyo was $60. They are probably better than the Bose. keep an eye out for deals there and on CL.

You mentioned you bought the 3310CI for $600. Just curious where did you get this deal if you would like to share.

Thanks.
