Can I safely terminate 14/2 speaker wire with RCA connectors?

I have a problem relating to the connection between my receiver's LFE output and my powered subwoofer's LFE input. The only wire existing between the two devices is a single run of in-wall 14/2 speaker wire. But the receiver output and subwoofer input are both single RCA connectors.

I suspect that I can just terminate the speaker wire with RCA connectors using one conductor of the speaker wire for the signal and the other for ground, but I'm hoping someone in this forum might confirm that will work.

The in-wall wire is so tight that I can't pull any new wire, so a solution is needed that uses only the existing 14/2 wire.

Thanks in advance.

you certainly can do that, It likely wont work as good as Coaxial cable, but it will work.
