Would this be a good idea? Right now I have a quest Powered subwoofer but i have the chance to purchase a Polk PSW10 Sub for about 20.00. Would it be alright to hook both up the receiver using a Y audio splitter to the Sub out on the back? or would i be farther ahead just replacing the Quest? Thanks! J

Click to expand... Agreed. I do think that the signal strength is reduced when you split it, so there is a limit to doing that. However, with just one y-splitter, it should work just great.

Actually it's yes to all three of your questions. Yes, you can hook up 2 subs to a Panasonic receiver (I have two on my Panny), I also have them hooked up with a "Y" cord, and yes you would definitely be farther ahead replacing the Quest with a better sub (I also did that myself, even though the Quest wasn't half bad). However, that would cost alot more than the 20 bucks to add the Polk. Maybe down the road, when you win 649, you can buy that "better" sub and sell the Quest and Polk to your neighbor. Colin

Works like a charm! Click to expand... I will never salute you General! I am going to warm you, that just because you added another subwoofer, doesn't mean the sound will be instantly better. You will need to play around with placement, output volume, and output bandwidth before you find the right settings for the 2 subwoofers to work well together. Don't worry, this basically means you get to blast bass until you find the right mix, then you blast bass some more SheepStar Reactions: no. 5 and Adam

The reason is that it helps to equalize the bass energy in the room so it sounds similar no matter where you sit. Just use a Y adaptor if necessary.
