Can I go any higher with my sound -

DefTechGuy, I have done business and built up a reputation with them "Sound Pro" here that they know how well I take care of my equipment, That they have no problem with letting me take the whole setup home to listen and decide. Would like you and anyone that may read this know , that I love my definitives and if this is all I could ever have I would still be a happy camper.
What impresses me is that these two particular brands speakers went two different routes. The defs have all this amp power built into there towers and center, while the Pardm, left all the room in there towers and center for the mids and highs, but then they compensate with a $3,800 Subwoofer that radiates its low range through out the room like pricy fine wine, no harshness.
The discount prices they quoted me was Sig.TowersS8, $3030.00 each, the center,PMSig C5, $3014.00, Surround Signature ADP3, $1,363.00 ea. and the Sub woofer, Sigservo, $3206.
Just thinking if I need the surrounds because I really do not hear them that well and could keep my Defs surrounds, only when playing A DVD movie do they kick in, and thats not my main listening interest.
Thank you for working with me on this, I just feel the itch to go for it.

It's worth an audition.

If I paid all that money for those speakers, I just KNOW it has to sound better.:D

I do believe that there are "warm" and "bright" sounding speakers and amps/preamps. The difference may be slight, especially when the listening period is short. But during long extended listening periods, those slight differences may add up.

I recently changed from an Acurus+Emotiva audio system to a Denon system. For shorter listening periods of 20 or 30 minutes, it seemed like they all sounded exactly the same with all things being equal (speakers, room, CDs, blu-ray, etc.).

But after a while and after looking back, I now think that the Denon is possibly slightly "warmer" and the Acu+Emo is possibly slightly "brighter" sounding.

So perhaps some speakers or some electronics or BOTH may contribute to this "warm" vs. "bright" sound theory.:D

Oh, maybe room acoustics also contribute to this sound.:D

I don't think "warm" or "bright" affects the detail or clarity of the sound. To me, "warm" just means the treble is not as pronounced or "high-lighted" when compared to "bright".
