Can anyone identify these?

I would love to know whose cables these are as I'm doing an article on transforming the worst room I've ever seen into something that is quite presentable... Ironically, these cables are the nicest thing in there, though I doubt they did anything for the sound...

Well nuts. A tineye search of 1.64 billion images came back blank. The EXIF info shows it was taken yesterday, I presume you were in the room these were utilized in?

No markings on the jacket? Were they terminated in any specific manner? I cannot tell from the picture if a banana plug is on the end or not.

We'll find it...fortunately there are only a few speaker wire manufacturers...

I was indeed... I'll inquire about the jacket. I didn't note anything when I glanced, but I only later realized it would be fun to know who the cables were made by, so I didn't do a thorough search at the time.

Just looks like a clear PVC jacket.

A few searches turned up nothing that looked like that, but some interesting other stuff :)

It looks like those tiny wires constricted the signal so muth that it's stuck inside the cables, built up, and it's about to explode.

Can you say "blivet", the WW2 military definition?

For some reason (perhaps because it was totally unexpected), that struck me as very funny!

But it also has made me think of a money making scheme, where you can start selling wires that are flared out at the ends, to better let the sound out! Since the ends won't fit in ordinary connectors, you can also modify equipment for people with special connectors that are extra large to fit your magical wires, making even more money!

You mean those -http://emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=stupid&thread=12284&page=2#191534

I can similarity to color pattern, but that's about it - i doubt Polk made them flat in the 70s... but then again I know jack about vintage audio....

Looks a bit like a preying mantis wearing an Argyle sweater.

That's not old Kimber Cable, is it? What's the approximate gauge of each strand?
