This is relevant to the pcm conversion of SACD's DSD to pcm stream, especially if you use a PS3. It converts to the highest 44.1 kHz multiple- 176 kHz. This works in 5.1 direct mode on my Integra 7.8, but I can't matrix to 7.1 or use audyssey processing. If it's at 24 bit/ 88.2 kHz, I can use all of my processing features. My room eq and timing changes with 88.2 kHz definately sounds better than the 176 kHz direct to my ears. With blu-ray's hd options, this isn't really a problem, because those discs are mostly mastered (as well as DVD-Audio) in multiples of 48 kHz, usually BD's at 24 bit/96kHz.
So the question: Can any current receviers use processing in 176 kHz? If not, will they even in the near future?
