I too was under the impression that the tweeters would have to be at ear level. I saw a picture on the web with that configuration, so I wondered if that was correct. If so, I would use the space for a power amp. I guess I'm going to have to move the center speaker when I get to that point. I'm working with 10.5 feet of wall space and a second sub coming in a few days.

I raised my front three. The amount you are offaxis is dependent on the following:
height of tweeter
height of ears at seated position
distance from ears to speakers
If the offset will only be say a few degrees, I wouldn't worry about it at all.
In fact, I've been considering building vertical MTMs, and in this case being onaxis becomes ever more imperative due to greater amounts of lobing offaxis (this happens when two drivers are playing the exact* same thing).
Well, Swerd (one of our in house experts) said I have nothing to worry about at all when I told him that I would be 4 degrees offaxis in the front row, and 2 degrees offaxis in the back (which means the most even compromise I could is 3/3).
If your tower is simply something like a TMW or TW, you can figure out how offaxis you would be. It may not even be audible at all, unless your subwoofer is super tall, or that you sit super close.
