You'll have to find the T/S parameters and model the sub with a program like WinISD. There aren't any inherent differences between drivers used in cars vs. homes that would absolutely preclude the use of one for the other application. If the model shows that acceptable output is available in the desired band (~20 Hz and up for ht use) then that driver is usable in a home application. The Infinity Kappa Perfect (built one and love it) and JL W series subs are designed for car use but work phenominally for home use as well. Rockford has a good rep in the car scene but I (or anyone else) couldn't tell you if its viable without modelling it.

If your talking home theater. Your best bet is to check your Fs number and your Xmax.

If your xmax is above say 15 mm and your Fs is below 28 you can make a nice home theater sub.

If the Fs is higher then you can probably make a good music sub. I don't know enough about your driver to say whether it'd make a good home sub. Before you attempt this I'll need your T/S parameters and a box size limitation. I can tell you right away if it's doable. I make no warranties on SQ.

It can work. Contact Rockford (either call or online- their site should have the parameters and they would be using Term Pro to come up with a box) and make sure the QTS falls in the .7 range unless you want to play Rap, which really wants a Qts of about 1.2

Most car woofers are made (now, more than before) to work well in a smaller enclosure and in a vehicle, not in a room that's much larger but it can definitely work.

Step 1- get the Thiel-Small parameters. Either Rockford-Fosgate or Term Pro software will have them but you'll need to know the actual speaker model number. Show that here and/or google the model number to find the parameters.
Step 2- download the software for speaker box design and load the parameters.
Step 3- use the software to try different designs (or have someone do it for you if you aren't confident/experienced with this)
Step 4- build one or more of the designs and try them out.

If you don't have woodworking skills or tools, go to a local woodworking store like Rockler or WoodCraft and look at their collection of woodworker contacts- I'm sure you could find someone who can build a speaker box for you. If you try this yourself, make sure to use good quality materials (MDF or void-free plywood and yellow wood glue, epoxy or polyurethane glue). I would recommend using screws for the joints. It makes a difference.

Above all- the speaker determines what size and type of cabinet is needed. There's no such thing as making a speaker work in a particular cabinet just because you want to use that one. If the cabinet is right, it'll work and if not, nothing you do will make it work.
