So I am a newbie and researching what seems to be endless information on every point in my stereo system. That brings me to cables...digital vs analog.....what cable should i use for each interconnect? does it matter?

phono stage to receiver
cd player to receiver
receiver to power amp
receiver to powered subwoofer

Thanks for the help

You don't have manuals for this equipment?

Can you post pics of the back of each piece of equipment? Impossible for us to make ANY recommendations if we're completely blind as to what you have.

I have the manuals, however they just say RCA cable. My understanding was that this is merely the type of connection and not the type of line. I have a Budgie Hybrid phono preamp, Integra DTM 40.7 stereo receiver, a generic 90's Kenwood cd player (RCA only hookups) and an Outlaw 5000 power amp. Sub is a ML Dynamo 700 powered sub.

value for the dollar spent = 'blue jeans cables' and 'signal cables' IMO

I was looking at BJ and Mono, however they both sell stereo (analog) and digital cables...I am unsure of what type of cable to buy for my interconnects

everything you have listed so far is analog (RCA)

The cable you will be using is coaxial cable. The quality of that coaxial cable is really determined by how far you need to go and potentially how much electrical noise you need to keep out of your system. Blue Jeans Cable really talks about the different types of cables they offer and why one is better than another. Why foiled/braided cables perform differently, etc. But, it all comes down to how much you want to spend and the quality you really need.

The Monoprice cables are perfectly fine. They do work well. But, the better BJC models are certainly a step up and worth it in an all analog system.

Digital coaxial cables are using the same coaxial cable that analog audio cables are using.

I typically just use mini RGB cabling for all my analog audio needs and it works just fine. For long runs I use a quality RG6 cable to go from my A/V receiver to the subwoofer.

run of the mill RCAs like these will do the job...https://www.amazon.com/FosPower-Stereo-Plated-Premium-Quality/dp/B016QVZF06/ref=sr_1_10?s=audio-video-accessories&ie=UTF8&qid=1517939475&sr=1-10&keywords=rca+cables

For the connection with the sub...a double shielded cable is preferred...https://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-ULTRA-Subwoofer-Cable-Feet/dp/B003FVX9FO/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1517939652&sr=1-4&keywords=sub+woofer+audio+cable
