buying a new receiver this weekend which should I buy?

When I get paid I am going to buy a new reciever this weekend. I have it down to 2. Pioneer VSX-1015TX or the Pioneer Elite VSX-52TX. I am really stuck on which one to buy, I dont know if the Elite is worth the extra money or not, they seem so similiar. I listen to both a lot of music and movies. Is the Elite a new model like the 1015 is? I want to get the best of the two, so any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What made you decide on the 1015 as one of your options? I'm buying a receiver this weekend, too, and I've narrowed it down to the Pioneer 1015TX or the Yamaha HTR-5960, but I'm leaning heavily towards the Yamaha.

The 52TX is last years model. The 53TX is the newest model, like the 1015TX. As for Yamaha, I would think the 5890 would be the logical contender to the Pioneer 1015TX as opposed to the 5860. If the Elite model was within $125 and you could get the 53TX, I'd go for it, otherwise, the 1015TX is pretty much unbeatable in it's price range.

As far as I can tell, the 1015 is a rebaged Elite marketed to sell at the big chain stores. For the price I can't think of anything out there that is close. Below that model from the 51x-91x series, they are all the same platform with varying features (5.1-7.1, increasing inputs/outputs) but the 1015 is the Elite chassis-completely different that the rest of Pioneer's standard lineup.
